…Featuring Q & a with Cindy Robinson
Each month, Colley Insurance will be completing a “Community Faces” profile of either a company or an individual in our community.
To kick off our very first Community Face, we would like to introduce you to Robinson Buick GMC. Located in the Guelph Auto Mall, Robinson celebrated 50 years in the business; ‘Embracing the past and looking to the future’. I spoke with Cindy Robinson, partner at Robinson and daughter of founder, Howard Robinson, to know this Guelph business professional better and divulge what helps a business reach the 50 year milestone. The following is a Q&A I had with Cindy Robinson:
Pierce: What do you take in your coffee?
Cindy: No coffee. Often I have a tea in the morning – Orange Pekoe.
Pierce: What is your favorite movie?
Cindy: Dirty Dancing is a classic.
Pierce: What is your preferred mobile device?
Cindy: I love my BlackBerry.
Pierce: What do you like to do when you are not working?
Cindy: Do we ever not work?! But in all honesty, I like to spend as much time with my family as possible when I can.
Pierce: What was your first car?
Cindy: I’ll never forget my Pontiac Acadian.
Pierce: What are your thoughts on autonomous cars?
Cindy: As someone who likes to be in control, I find autonomous cars difficult to envision.
Pierce: If you were going to give public tours of the company, what stops would the guide make?
Cindy: We would make our first stop in the show room to take a look at some of the best vehicles we offer, before heading over to the customer lounge for some refreshments. Finally we would tour the service drive through where the commitment of our employees can not be understated.
Pierce: Are there people within or outside the organization that the company holds as a hero?
Cindy: My father, Howard, whose passion for the car business led him to Guelph to start a General Motors franchise back in 1965. I’m proud to see his legacy continue.
Pierce: What do you expect over the next 50 years?
Cindy: The auto industry is an ever changing market as technologies develop and consumer preferences change; Robinson is eager to adapt and looking forward to meeting our clients needs for another 50 years.
Robinson has just celebrated 50 years in Guelph and Colley Insurance is proud to say that they have had a relationship with Robinson Buick GMC for all of those 50 years.
